In case you missed out, I thought I would update you all on the last few events we hosted about the Contrary Art Club meetings from February to April.
The Contrary Art Club is a monthly event either on Zoom or twice a year in person Plein Air meeting. These meetings are FREE and they give special discounts and pricing here for Courses at the Contrary Art Center.

February
February we introduced the Contrary Art Club to the world. In this meeting, we held a Zoom meeting and had a few loyal club members join. In this meeting, the Demonstration was on Drawing a Portrait.

March
March was also a Zoom meeting and we had a successful demonstration of an oil painting portrait. You can stay up to date by watching the meeting here.
This one was nice because watching the paint transform the portrait from a flat image to a more three dimensional piece was really fun to watch.
April
April was the time for Plein Air (outdoor painting). We thought it was appropriate to remove ourselves from the screens this month and get outdoors to enjoy all the blossoms and good warm weather.
We took a trip down to the Newport Bay Conservancy and spent the morning painting and enjoying the view. Some interest was generated and we had some onlookers as well. I painted in watercolors and Dmitriy, an instructor at the Contrary Art Center, painted in oils.
We had a few kids join us as well in the drawing, but they mostly ran and explored the nature.
We will be having another Plein air meeting in the Fall.
